Eight members of the Alabama International
Organization of Women Pilots attended a Biloxi Gulf Coast Fall Section meeting
hosted by the Mississippi Chapter. Almost fifty members from southeastern states
were represented at the event last weekend.
-Ninety Nine members tour Keesler Air Force Base and met the Hurricane Hunters and the C-130J, AlabamaAviator image-
Educational opportunities focused on Aerospace and Military facilities. Keesler Air Force Base presented the Hurricane Hunters with a tour of the C-130J on base and one of only 15 full motion simulators for the aircraft. In addition, instructors for the Air Traffic Control School guided tours and discussion about the curriculum and graduates. Other stops included the Infinity Science Center and Stennis Space Center with a tour of Aerojet Rocketdyne assembly facility. Lastly, at the Shade Tree airport, the group enjoyed a cook out and several biplanes take off and land at the private grass field airport.
