HUNTSVILLE AL- Airport perimeters are vulnerable to security
breaches from people, vehicles and wildlife that make their way onto airport
grounds where they may either go undetected or remain undiscovered long enough
to cause damage or create security threats. Dynetics has developed a solution
to address this problem. The company will showcase the Dynetics groundAware
Airport Perimeter and Ground Surveillance Radar at the Airports Council
International-North America (ACI-NA) Annual Conference & Exhibition in San
Jose, Calif., Sept. 22-25, 2013. The product will be on display in Booth #1111.
Dynetics groundAware is a surveillance radar that will
enable airports to immediately detect intruders and respond before they pose
real danger to safety and security. As an innovator of sensor technologies for
40 years, Dynetics has designed this product for highly accurate situational
awareness with a very low false alarm rate, all-weather dependability, high
reliability and minimal support, flexibility to meet diverse needs, interoperability
with video surveillance and other assets, and easy installation and use.
Dynetics representatives at the conference will demonstrate
to airport industry representatives how groundAware's technology
instantaneously and accurately detects people, vehicles and wildlife when they
breach perimeters and encroach on airport grounds.
"Our groundAware technology enables airport security
personnel to benefit from real-time situational awareness, allowing them to
respond to intrusions quickly and efficiently," said Greg Lester, executive
vice president for Defense, Space and Intelligence Programs at Dynetics. "They
avoid surprises and can immediately direct their attention to actions that will
prevent the threat of airport safety and security."
According to Lester, groundAware is software-defined, web-based and built with off-the-shelf components, making it easy to configure, deploy, use and afford for both large and small airports seeking to augment their situational awareness.
