LANETT AL- A beautiful early summer morning greeted
participants at Lanett Municipal Airport's second annual Pancake Fly In
Saturday. Greeting and cooking flapjacks were Brown Aero proprietress Regina
Brown and her mom, Martine Robertson, who came up from Pensacola to help
her daughter. "I love coming to Lanett for this event to meet the
pilots and help out Regina," Ms. Robertson said. "Everyone is so
friendly!"
Brown Aero provides flight instruction and aircraft rentals at the airport and also does hangar roof sealing. Jerry Thrower, Director of Facilities for the City of Lanett stopped by and was pleased with the turnout. "It's amazing how far we come with this airport in the last six years," Thrower said. Even famed Alabama aviator and aerobatic pilot Greg Koontz flew in to support the event. "This is a great turn out...it gets better every year" said Brown. "I'm especially pleased to see so many local pilots and support from throughout the aviation community."- Article and images courtesy of Al Allenback
