ELMORE AL- EAA 822 Spring Fly In is this
Saturday at the Historic Wetumpka Airport starting at 9:00 am. Perhaps the most
fun and attended Young Eagle event in the state, kids from 8 to 17 years of age
can fly free. For the very young, age 7 and under, a fun simulator is ready for
them to swoop and turn.
As an early 1940's WW II Army Training Field, Wetumpka Airport is still turning out pilots. Savannah Weaver, a Young Eagle only a few years ago, is now flying Young Eagles with EAA 822 as a licensed pilot. She says she is giving back to those who want a chance to fly.
A community asset, the General Aviation airport offers a variety of services and is especially proud of a value added grass landing strip. Their unique rural location is the ideal location to learn how to fly and one of the busiest GA airports in the state.
See aircraft displays and enjoy fun and fun for the entire family. EAA 822 holds their Annual Fly In each April, if you have not yet experienced the magic- come out this year. More info and download the poster go to events.
