Women in Aviation, International is offering a special edition CD of Ansel Brown's "When You Fly" as an organization fundraiser. The CD is available for purchase at http://www.waistore.org/ for $6.00.
"When You Fly" was written by country artist Ansel Brown and his wife Lisa, and performed by Ansel. While Ansel sings, Lisa adds more meaning to the lyrics as she interprets the song in sign language. "When You Fly" describes the joys of flying, whether as a pilot or a passenger. This song was originally performed at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in July 2011 prior to the launch of space shuttle Atlantis. A few weeks later, at WAI's annual AirVenture Breakfast, he and Lisa repeated their performance to the delight of WAI members.
"Thanks to the generosity of Ansel and Lisa, we are able to offer this CD as a fundraising project," says WAI President Dr. Peggy Chabrian. "Ansel and Lisa have been terrific supporters of WAI and, of course, ‘When You Fly' has particular resonance with our members."
Lisa and Ansel Brown will attend WAI's annual conference in Dallas and perform the song again. The 23rd Annual WAI Conference will be held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas from March 8-10, 2012. For more information, visit www.wai.org.
