OXFORD AL- Mr. Pat McCarty, president of Aerospace Coatings International-ACI received a William (Bill) O'Brien Employer Aviation Technicians Gold Award of Excellence on behalf of their employees on July 11, 2012. The award was presented for their employees' group participation in the FAA's AMT awards program. The voluntary program is designed to encourage the AMT to receive additional training each year above that which is required.
An award is given each year to Aviation Maintenance Technicians who participate in the FAASAFETY.GOV on-line training program. Employers may be eligible for an Award when their company has 50% employee participate in the program for a "Gold Award". Participation of 100% may qualify an employer for a "Diamond Award".

On hand to present the award from the FAA was Thomas Mullin and William Hattaway from the Southern Region FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) and their Principal Maintenance Inspector, Mr. Robert Bullock from the Alabama Northwest Florida Flight Standards District Office.
