The user fee debate has reared its ugly head once again and Helicopters Association International is urging you to contact your elected member of Congress and ask them join Thomas Petri (R-Wis.) and Jerry Costello (D-Ill.), along with 66 other members of Congress who are writing to President Obama to say no to user fees.

The Obama administration is proposing a $100 per flight fee on commercial and general aviation. This fee would have a devastating impact on commercial and general aviation, as well as on the aviation manufacturing industry. The U.S. House of Representatives has rejected fee proposals in the past. Aviation contributes more than $1.2 trillion to the U.S. economy each year and provides 11 million jobs. During these challenging economic times, the industry should not be saddled with more than $1 billion in new costs each year. This would have a detrimental effect on the competitiveness and future of commercial and general aviation.

The 68 members of Congress listed below have agreed to co-sign a letter to President Obama. If your representative is not listed, you can find their contact information at http://www.house.gov/ . Please tell them to contact Mike Matousek (mike.matousek@mail.house.gov) in Congressman Sam Graves' office to sign on to the Petri-Costello letter.

Members who have already signed the Petri-Costello letter include Congressmen:
Barrow, Berkley, Bishop (Ga.), Bordallo, Boswell, Brooks, Burgess, Burton, Coble, Conaway, Costello, Crowley, DeFazio, Dold, Duncan, Farenthold, Gibson, Gosar, Graves (Mo.), Griffin, Guinta, Hanna, Harris, Hastings (Fla.), Herrera-Beutler, Holden, Holt, Huelskamp, Hultgren, Hurt, Jenkins, Johnson (Ga.), Johnson (Ill.), Kingston, Lankford, LaTourette, LoBiondo, Loebsack, Long, Mack, Manzullo, McCaul, McCotter, Mica, Michaud, Norton, Paul, Peterson, Petri, Poe, Pompeo, Posey, Rahall, Ribble, Roe, Rokita, Ross (Ark.), Schock, Schrader, Scott (Ga.), Sensenbrenner, Smith (Texas), Southerland, Towns, Walsh, Westmoreland, Wilson (S.C.), Young (Ark.).
