Atmore native George William Sellers has recently published a new book, "The Windswept Clouds of Winter," that he said was inspired by his boyhood interests.
Sellers was born in Atmore but spent most of his childhood near Pensacola where he developed a love of aviation through visiting the Pensacola Naval Air Station and watching the world famous Blue Angels perform.
According to Sellers, his love of fishing, Tampa Rays baseball and aviation all helped him come up with his new book's initial concept some 17 years ago.
The setting of the story is NAS Pensacola, the Cradle of Aviation and it centers on motivation through the love of aviation.
Sellers said personal tragedy postponed the writing of his book, but also added inspiration to finish the story, which centers around a young family struck with a tragedy of their own.
"I wrote this story with hopes that people would see Christians don't live uptight, stuffy lives," Sellers said. "We have dreams and aspirations just like everyone else and we're able to chase after them. My dream was to become a writer."
