HUNTSVILLE AL - This year's WINGS Pilot Proficiency Day at the Huntsville Airport is Saturday October 5th. A tremendous list of participants this year and a broad variety of activities will keep you engaged for a full day of learning and fun.
The all-day event that allows pilots, mechanics, and airmen to attend multiple safety seminars while receiving credit for the WINGS proficiency program returns for a second year. There will be several flight instructors available volunteering their time for this training and some airplanes will be available to rent. Additionally, a few static airplanes on display will be positioned near the hangar facility for those who would like to dream a bit, smell some used engine oil, etc. The North Alabama and Huntsville aviation community welcome the folks who contribute to our world and general aviation.
Nine planned presentations with experts in a variety of fields will speak during an allocated 50 -minute slot throughout the day. Topics from engines, weather, air traffic control, aviation medicine, spins, survival and physiology will be discussed.
Come to the Huntsville airport, Signature Flight Support's large hangar, on the very north end of their ramp. Food and drink will be catered by Granville's BBQ who will be around early for coffee and snacks, lunch and drinks, and afternoon goodies and drinks at discounted rates.The schedule: Gates open at 7am (parking will be on the adjacent ramp area).
