The airport authority, which approved its version of the
operating lease on Aug. 20, will construct and own the 15,000-sq.-ft. facility.
The training center will be used for teaching aviation technical skills,
industrial maintenance and welding. The curriculum will be established by the
Baldwin County school board, according to a media release from the school
system.
Courses taught at the facility will be offered
as dual enrollment classes to high school students across Baldwin County, the
release said. Both high school and adult college students will have the
opportunity to take courses any time, and Faulkner State and Enterprise State
will offer courses to both students and adults, according to the release. FMI: Baldwin
