Nominate for General Aviation Awards Today

The GA Awards Program is an FAA / industry partnership that recognizes and promotes professionalism in aviation. 
 Show your appreciation to a great flight instructor, A&P mechanic, avionics technician or FAASTeam representative by nominating them for an award today!  
  
Nominations for next year's 2014 General Aviation Awards are due to your local FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) by September 30th, 2013.   The following link provides awards program information as well as the application package: http://GeneralAviationAwards.org/  . 


The 2014 national awards winners will receive the following: 
  
*  Round trip travel expenses to AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for each winner and a guest 
*  Five (5) nights' lodging 
*  Two (2) AirVenture admission passes 
*  A rental car stipend and AirVenture parking passes 
*  Sightseeing flights in a Bell 47 helicopter and a flight in EAA's Ford Trimotor *  Introduction to the world's aviation press at the "Meet the Administrator" session 
*  Awards presentations at the FAA Safety Center 
*  A "This Is Your Life" video vignette approximately two minutes long depicting each winner's life and career in aviation 
*  A GA Awards Celebration Luncheon and presentation of gifts & prizes from industry 
*  Various receptions hosted by sponsoring and supporting industry organizations. 


The total value of the prizes, gifts, and cash to be received by each national GA Award winner is conservatively estimated at $5000.   
  
The 2013 awards were presented August 1st during AirVenture at Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the FAA Safety Center by John Allen, the FAA's Director of Flight Standards.  The Master of Ceremonies was Greg Feith, a former NTSB investigator and currently an aviation safety consultant.  JoAnn and Sandy Hill were also named as GA Awards program Directors Emeritus.
