The Lure of AirVenture

As soon as it is over, it is missed and longed for until next year when for just one July week in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, anything and everything that is aviation is there. Anyone who is someone in aviation comes there. It is the ultimate gathering of passionate aviation aficionados from around the world who embrace the Experimental Aircraft Association and what it professes. "EAA is dedicated to serving all of aviation by fostering and encouraging individual participation, high standards, and access to the world of flightin an environment that promotes freedom, safety, family, and personal fulfillment."

Careers are launched, products applauded and accolades bestowed on those who dare to dream and succeed. For the most part, their status is checked at the door, each participant is equal in an infatuation and love affair for aviation. They are all friends who may or may not have yet met.  There is only one thing they all want in this short week, to be totally immersed in the joy of flight, the sight, smell and sound of aviation. To be there is to be fulfilled, to soak in and experience each moment and make it last.
Whether it is your first or 20^th time, the excitement is just the same, aviation is  evolving, new and full of surprises. But more than that, you are all sharing it together, what could be better.   AirVenture is timeless, but has an indelible memory for those volunteers that come back year after year and play the mission forward. Without them, it could not be!
