ATHENS GEORGIA- Learn about Athens' aviation past on March
23 when "Athens Aviation: Then, Now, Next" is held at the Ben Epps Airport.
Tours will be given where visitors can learn about Ben Epps,
Georgia's first aviator, and meet Pat Epps, a living aviation legend. Tours of
the flight center and passenger terminal will be given along with displays of
aircrafts from the Experimental Aircraft Association. There will also be
children's activities.
There will also be two screenings of "World's Smallest
Airport: The True Story of the Trasher Brothers Aerial Circus 1945-1950" in the
Athens-Clarke County Library auditorium at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The event is free, but tickets are required. There are only 200 tickets available and they can be picked up at the Athens-Clarke County Library, Lyndon House Arts Center and Front Porch Bookstore in Winterville.
