BIRMINGHAM AL- At the Southern Museum of Flight
last night, the Birmingham Aero Club presented their annual awards. Founded in 1932 and having over 200 members, the
BAC has a long history of aviation involvement in Birmingham and the state of
Alabama. Aero Club awards recognize unselfish
contributions of time, effort, interest, and willingness to promote all phases
of aviation and aviation activities.
Johnny Ward recieves the Jay Ginder "Spirit of Fligh" Award from Ken Coupland
Established in 19981, the Jay Ginder "spirit of flight" Award is given to a member of the Birmingham Aero Club who exhibits a genuine love for flying and the true "Spirit of Flight".
Garry Nash recieves the Lurleen B Wallace Award from Holly Roe
Lurleen B. Wallace Memorial Trophy, established 1969 is presented for an individuals outstanding dedication of himself to the goals of the Birmingham Aero Club.
Other presentations included the SAE Trophy to Ryan Waguespack, Glenn E. Messer Trophy to Raymon Ross, a special recognition awards to Richard Woodruff and Ronnie Allen and the BAC Trophy previously awarded in Montgomery to Gov.
