Maybe closer to home, the City of Prattville announced its 9th annual Mardi Gras Parade, presented by the Krewe of Athena, is scheduled for Saturday, January 26th. The parade themed "Splashing into 2013- Mardi Gras Style" will roll out from the Autauga County Courthouse at 1:00pm and wind its way through the streets of downtown, with plenty of beads, candy and moonpies for everyone. Local vendors will be selling beverages and food, beginning at 11am in the Partners in Pediatrics parking lot, located next to Bank Trust in downtown Prattville. A children's fun area will be set up as well.

This year the 2nd annual Prattville Service League Chili Cook-off will be held in conjunction with the annual Mardi Gras festivities. Set up/check in for the downtown cook-off will begin at 7am, and will officially open to the public at 11:30am. For more information, call the Special Events Office at 358-0297.
