Ways You Can Celebrate the Magic of National Aviation Day

National Aviation Day, observed in the United States, is on August 19 each year to celebrate the history and development of the aviation. It coincides with the birthday of Orville Wright who, together with his brother Wilbur, made significant contributions to powered flight. Set aside this day to appreciate those pioneers who never gave up their dreams and achieved success in aviation.

Across the country visitors to Huffman Prairie Flying Field located on the Wright-Patterson AF Base, Ohio to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina will explore the Wright Brothers invention. Alabama offers exceptional opportunities to learn about aviation history, technology and careers on Sunday, August 19- National Aviation Day:


Huntsville's U.S. Space and Rocket Center charts the course from early aviation to the largest collection of space exploration artifacts and offers IMAX and 3D movies. Take a bus tour to the Marshal Space Flight Center. http://www.spacecamp.com/mu/admission

Tuskegee National Historic Site, Moton Field and Home of the Tuskegee Airmen, is open for tours.
