European aircraft manufacturer Airbus plans to invest several hundreds of millions of dollars to build its first U.S. plant in Mobile, Alabama, the New York Times reports on its website Wednesday citing people with knowledge of the plan.
According to the news report, Airbus could announce details of the plan as early as Monday said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the plan was still confidential.

Airbus parent European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. (EADSY, EAD.FR) already has an engineering facility in Mobile. The report said it wasn't clear when the plant would open nor how many planes would be produced. -Staff Report, See: New York Times full story
