Guntersville EAA Fly In Breakfast Special Events

The Guntersville Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA 683) would like to invite area pilots and those interested in aviation to attend its pancake breakfast at the Guntersville Airport (8A1) Saturday, June 9th from 8:00 to 9:30 AM.


This month's breakfast features two special events: The first, North Alabama Soaring Champion, Bill Elliott. Bill is a two-time U.S. 18m national champion with extensive racing and cross-country soaring experience. He earned his airplane rating in 1981 and then began looking for new challenges. The lure of motor-less flight induced him to join the Huntsville Soaring Club in 1989. It was with that HP - 18 he won the Region 5 South Sports Class Championship in 1995, his first championship. Bill will be bringing his glider to the Guntersville Airport to display it for all to see.


The second feature will be an Air Evac Life Team 32 Helicopter from Scottsboro. Air Evac EMS, Inc., which operates Air Evac Lifeteam, the largest independently owned and operated membership-supported air medical service in the United States. The company has established itself as the preeminent provider of air ambulance services to rural markets, serving over 1,700 diverse referral sources, including over 1,000 hospitals and 700 EMS agencies, and attracting more than 1 million members in support of its presence in their local communities.

In addition to the featured exhibits, several of the EAA Member Aircraft Hangars will be open to the public to see aircraft stationed at the Guntersville Airport. A $5 per person donation is requested to support the EAA breakfast activity. FMI: 256/506-2834
