Sun'n Fun opened today under blue sky, with airplanes and fans filling the campus.  Performers and their contrails fill the sky, FiFi arrived, the USAF Thunderbirds are here, it's show time at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.

Typically more than 45,000 takeoffs and landings occur during the event and it was indeed a busy sky. Dubbed, Spring Break for Pilots, crowds began to fill the grounds today as Sun N Fun kicks off the flying season.

A variety of aircraft will be on hand including homebuilt, rotorcraft, ultralight and hot-air balloons. The event will give a sampling of planes throughout history and includes workshops, programs for children and exhibits. This year features musical concerts for additional entertainment.
