FIFI, the world's only flying B-29 and The Bratt III, a WW II P-51 Mustang will land at the Mobile Downtown airport on Thursday, February 24 for tours and rides through Sunday.
The B-29 Superfortress regularly tours the US each year in remembrance and honor of our American military forces. The tour stops and airshows FiFi attends are educational encounters for most of the public that are just now re-learning of the sacrifices of our WWII and Korean veterans. You can get up close to view and experience these aircraft in Mobile this weekend. The aircraft are opened up for ground and cockpit tours when not in operation. In addition, the CAF will conduct Living History Bomber Rides.
Of the nearly 4000 Superfortresses built during the war; only a handful still exist. Today only ONE still flies. The Commemorative Air Force owns and operates "FIFI" the only flying B-29. The CAF B-29/B-24 Squadron tours the nation each year as a flying tribute to the men and women who built serviced and flew the aircraft of WWII. Wherever "FiFi" stops, the CAF invites the public to take a tour of the aircraft, and for those lucky few, the opportunity to purchase a Living History Flight Experience aboard "FIFI".
