SHELBY Co AL- During their February meeting, members and guests of Shelby County airport EAA Chapter 825, visited the National Weather Service office. Senior Meteorologist and NOAA employee, Mary Keiser hosted a facility tour and weather forecast presentation.

The pilots learned how several different atmospheric models are compared to develop a "confidence level" for a forecast. She told the group interesting facts from behinds the scenes about how the weather bureau issues information as a forecast to the public.Clik here to view.
